Coin balance went into negatives

Following up with a bug I experienced as stated here (you get charged $2,500 without actually getting the Marigold sprout), I was charged into the negatives trying to buy Marigolds from the shop. Even though the charging error happened, I was apparently able to keep buying the Marigold while owning less than what it cost (I didn't get it anyway). This is the second time I have gone thousands of coins into the negative due to this bug. In fact, I was still able to consecutively buy the Marigold while I was in the negatives (I also wasn't credited this one). Only when I stopped for a moment and attempted again that the game throws the insufficient balance message ("Not Enough Money").

Coin balance shows $-1,130. This was after I collected two (2) diamonds from fully growing two (2) Marigolds.
