PvZ Replanted Will Not Be Worth It
As I'm sure many people are already aware, PvZ Replanted has a number of issues plaguing it, and it's not even out yet. As a bit of a list of the known issues, here's what we know:
- EA lied about AI upscaling
- None of the original artists were contacted to make it
- This is the mobile port of the game, specifically, the Windows Phone version
- Laura Shigihara, the original composer, discovered the music isn't dynamic like it is in the original
- None of the original artists know where the concept art came from
- No online, which might be changed later, but knowing EA, I doubt it
- $20, which is 4x as much as the original, and given we know AI was used, is too overpriced
- A bit off topic, but the new PvZ 3 literally ripped a fan-game, which I will not name, but fans should know what I'm talking about
I genuinely doubt anyone from EA will see this, but if someone does, I want you to know that Replanted is a great concept, but from what we already know about it, is not good in its current state. My advice - Pull the game from sale and refund everyone who preordered. Call the people who worked on the original, and completely rebuild the game from scratch (yes, scrap the current version completely and start over), and release it when they, not EA, but those original developers, are happy
We, as the fans, want Replanted to succeed, but from what we know already, this isn't what we want. If you want our money, the secret is really simple: JUST MAKE GOOD GAMES
