Farm Merge Valley Crystals and Progress, Gone

Farm Merge Valley took away the crystals, but didn't give me the progress I made.  Now it looks like I have to do all the work over again, but first I'll have to purchase more gems to get  the crystals.  I shouldn't have to make another purchase. 

Here's what I did:  I purchased gems, bought a huge amount of crystals 3500 of them.  I bought the exclusive area for 1999 crystals, then hired a worker to help gather materials.   I also bought a stack of bricks from the shop.  Now I was down to 1,569 crystals.

I finished opening all the boxes, used up an enormous amount of energy with the workers.  After doing all the work and using up the energy, I decided to take a break.  I closed the window and there was another window behind, apparently that was left open from making the purchases it said the game was idle but I closed it out.  

When I came back, the exclusive area was closed off and all my progress was gone!  What I need is to get a refund so I can unlock the area, again.  Because the game took away 1,931 cystals so I don't have enough to unlock the new area and I shouldn't have to buy more gems to get the needed cystals.
