I have the same problem! Frustrating.
The consensus is Garden Blast is a terrible game. I’m a game purist, playing games solely by mastering the game and not succeeding with the help of power ups or any other help purchased by gems. Like so many others, I was stuck on level 200 with over two weeks remaining in the challenge. Without the pressure of an eminent deadline, I just relaxed and tried to keep from getting too frustrated. Playing several dozen times a day, by chance I got a favorable starting layout and won the game without power ups. Persistence and endurance proved it can be done. If you would like to read about my predictions of POGO in the future, click on my name and read my post “Signs of the future” that was written prior to finishing the challenge.

Has anyone finished level 308 without using any power ups? Because I don't think it's possible since the level seems nearly impossible to win without using them. There is a blue color meter? that gives a disco ball once you've matched enough blue squares yet the board never has enough blue squares to fill it. And the few that do appear are on opposite sides of the board. I haved played this level 6 times and have yet to get enough blues to fill the meter up. So it's doubtful I'll finish the Surprise Event Badge which is a shame because I used to like this game. You are driving players that really like this game (being level 308 should tell you how much I liked it) away. Making levels that are hard is one thing but having ones that are nearly impossible is just wrong.
PS You need to update the Help section for this game. It only gives the most basic info about the game and this game is anything but basic.

I am currently stuck on this level and I agree with you. How can I win 30 games for this challenge when you cannot repeat games and this game is so hard anyway. I struggled to get to where I am at now. I also agree with pogo needing more detailed explanation of what you have to do. I did not know what that blue meter was for or how to get rid of it until I read your post.
- 3 years ago@dream94wwpey ~ Hi, I'm fairly sure I went ahead & used a power up at the end of 308 level (w fireflies)--usually b/c I'm super close to the end & just want to be done w it already. It appears there's not enough blues--and you don't a need a ton of blues to drop the disco ball--I do believe if--as you go--you strategically click on rockets or bombs (better if clicked as a pair but we can't always get lucky) to take out the few blues you see and the fireflies, that'd be enough to drop the disco ball. Then if you're able to pair that disco ball w rocket to blast off near as possible to the upper shelves (better than clear down deep in the hole), it is winnable w/o personal power ups. If you are able to start off with a rocket & bomb or rocket & disco ball before game start,* you "might" only have to play that level once to complete. I usu just plan on playing every new level 2-3x before deciding if & where it def needs additional firepower. You might already know the following; however as there no game instructions, I'll post just in case:
*IMPORTANT HINT: --NEVER "QUIT" the GB game---instead always hit Reload button up on search bar to refresh the page. The reason why is because of Ant-tony's straw hat hanging on the fence post. If you win successively (I think 3 games; not sure!), ribbons are attached to the hat. If you QUIT (instead of clicking your browser's reload button) , the straw hat is again "nude" & win streak has to start all over.
.Keeping the ribboned straw hat ensures that every game board thereafter will be granted on-the-house power ups and/or boosters at game start. So you want to keep that hat! ~ IMO, all levels ending with a zero (and some of the 200 levels) could always use an extra rocket paired with disco ball before the game starts. ~ Good luck!
