They show up somewhere between levels 30 & 40. I'm sorry, but I can't remember the specific level. You can keep replaying the same level once you find them as long as you don't play to win. I had like 25 to go and accidentally won and had to ply like 6 more levels to find more purple blocks.
on level 329 there are no purple blocks and you cannot go backwards, any suggestions? can't win this challenge w o getting the purple blocks.

Finally found purple blocks on level 355. I plan on "not winning" level until I get the 2000 purple that we need. Got 59 on the first attempt. Hope this helps those at the upper levels.
Level 138 has purple blocks. I keep losing so it will replay. Good luck.
I got purple blocks on level 39. Not many, but that's where they appeared for me. :-)
