Merge Academy - Lost Energy when claiming bonuses

For days now I have noticed that I lost my 100 energy when claiming my bonuses.  I have managed a work around by playing the game - using my 100 energy first - then when I am at zero claiming my bonu...

Same thing has happen to me.  Turned on the game, no energy.  How can we win a challenge with no energy?
