Today the garbage can keeps saying save progress quit or start. Will not let you collect power or continue to get other stuff that we earned. this has been going on several days now.

I and others are seeing this, too. When you select the trash can and then pick either coins or energy bolts, it says that it can't save your progress and "try again?". You click "try again" until it changes to "restart" and when you're back in, you have not gotten the coins or energy bolts. The rest of game play goes along just fine until you try the trash can again and you have the same problem.
No real workaround to this. You can scroll to the other rooms in chapter 1 and collect those freebies. If you have chapter 2 freebies, you can click the thing with the ! and move from freebie to freebie there, like normal, and collect those. I assume it's the same with chapter 3, though I haven't gotten there.
The other bug where a lot of people are losing all their energy bolts is still being reported, though I'm not seeing it. The one where refreshing gives you a lot of energy is still happening, too. I get 86 bolts each time; some report getting 330 or so; others get 45; all very strange.

same here... now it's gonna be reset to a time that is off schedule... if and when it does reset.... it's not worth it only being able to get 30-40 energy every 12 hours....

I am having the same issue with the garbage can not awarding energy units or coins and forcing you to restart. Also, if you have any units clicking on the trash can deletes them. Exiting out of the game and restarting gives you 45 energy units. It's maddening!
Very same problem here with the trash can however if I try it, it will delete all of my energy. Also if I try to purchase an item in the store it deltes my energy.
I enjoy the game but not so much not with all of these new issues.
