I too am having issues with getting the coins. Game keeps saying to restart or quit game. Very frustrating.

I am also having this issue along with many others. This was a problem that happened pretty frequently when the game started; I assume it has returned because of updates made to the game in one way or another. One way to get around this annoying bug is to just click and scroll to retrieve your other freebies and ignore the trash can for the time being. Hopefully, they will update all of us via the forums when the problem is resolved; until then, I would ignore the trash can.
Used to be my go-to POGO game, now just too frustrating to play. Energy not regenerating, etc.
