    This was actually part of a glitch the game was having. I'm about to enter Chapter 3 and I still get 100 bolts every day. The time it couldn't be saved for you was probably when they had updated the game, therefore returning it to the 100 bolt maximum. But we can all hope that they might increase the maximum bolt value someday ;)

Thank you Mwstar19 for your reply. You would think that when you start a new chapter they would give you more bolts, say 100 Chapter 1 - 150 for Chapter 2 etc...
