Chat not displaying correctly for PC users
We’re actively investigating this issue and will share more details as soon as we have an update.
As someone who used to write software, this stuck me as an odd way to describe this problem. I think the issue occurs when the text goes into the chat buffer, not when it's displayed later.
So, when I reply, "nice" to someone, the censor app or something changes that to #### and stores that in the text buffer and when it's displayed, it appears as #### to everyone, not just PC users. As a Mac user, I can assure you that I see the ####s, too. If a moment later, without changing fonts or anything else, I then say ".nice", that goes into the chat buffer unchanged and everyone sees ".nice".
Also, some folks have two accounts and more than one of these report that when they use account A, almost everything they say becomes all ####, but when they change to account B, they can chat almost normally. Note that when they change accounts, they're not changing anything about their software. It seems as if your censor thinks account A is bad and account B is good.
At least one or two users I've talked to in the past and have never said anything untoward have all of what they're now saying changed to ####s. I doubt seriously that they are suddenly saying all bad things. Some ordinary things I say, like "wtg" and "nice" get hashed. Some folks have said that emojis have been changed to hashes. I've also noticed for me, that one word answers are much more likely to be hashed than sentences, and if I use "wtg" or another of these words in the middle of a sentence, they go thru ok. However, those users that get everything hashed find that it doesn't matter. They're also less likely to get something thru by adding a . to the front, like I did for ".nice".
Maybe you should go back to the old censor? Hope you can figure this out and this message helps. Take care!
