I haven't been able to play for 2 days because of this.  It won't reset the lives. The only way it works is if you sit there for 30 minutes with the game open. Then it will add one life for every 30 minutes.  But if you close the game out to go play something else and come back, it adds zero lives. I'm not going to sit here staring at a game screen in 30 minute increments to get one life added so I guess I won't be playing this anymore.

Does anyone ever do anything about these issues? Tile hero tells me I have 29.54 minutes before I get more lives, so I go back in after 40 minutes, and it still says I have 29.54 seconds before I get another life. This usually happens several times, when suddenly I go in and actually have a couple lives. It is so hard to finish the badges when it keeps doing this. Also, I think there should be an undo button, that can be used once, because occasionally you are almost done, and you accidentally click the one beside the one you meant to click and lose the game.
