Hi oracle2867,
I completely understand how it can be confusing to see a thread with a 'Solved' status when the feedback indicates the opposite, so I'll do my best to explain why you're seeing that here.
The "Marked as Solution" option is the only way we currently have to highlight informative or helpful posts so our community members can catch that information more easily and quickly. It's not limited to resolutions or fixes. Often, it's used to pin the best available advice (like troubleshooting, workarounds, etc) or the latest information (such as 'we're investigating', 'need more info', etc) we have to share at the moment.
In this case, the thread is moving quickly, with a lot of feedback coming through - which is great btw. It just means new posts can quickly push older posts down. That makes it harder for new readers to see my response and understand the purpose of this thread. So, to help minimize confusion and help it be found quickly, I've marked my post using the 'mark as solution' function purely to help pin it to the top.
I get that the 'Solved' label can be confusing and counterintuitive in these scenarios. In cases where a post I pin isn't a solution, I try to include a banner (like the one below) at the top so it's the first thing readers see before reading the rest of the post, and makes things clearer:
If you’d like to learn more about how this feature works, check out this blog: What's New on the Forum > Mark as Solution.
