Since the last start of the last season I've been having issues with the ads. Sometimes the glitch and don't play or they play but don't give the rewards. I thought it would be fixed with the new season but it seems to have gotten worse. Has anyone else had any issues like this.

I'm experiencing the same thing. Normally the stupid interactive adds open the app (if it's installed on the device) or Google play when you press the close symbol closing simcity & losing your reward.
But today alone I have unsuccessfully tried a good 10 times to speed up a factory and it took 3 adds before I was able to extend an assignment. Customer service want a screenshot but when I try to upload it to the chat the app restarts.
Temu, Candy Crush, Tiktok, Shein adds are the worst for automatically diverting you out of the app but now you don't get anything.

Yesterday i had also one ads which has been played and I could close it with the X Button but got no rewards. I closed the game, cleared the cache and started the game new.
Before this case I don't got the option to look ads, either in the shop nor in the mayors wheel, only the option to use them with simcash. I did the same actions?
