Are EA pressuring TrackTwenty to generate sales?
Bear with me on this one.
Simcity Buildit has dropped from being the #1 top grossing simulation game to #3 in as many weeks right?
Statistics don't lie.
We have all noticed a significant drop in SimCash prizes in both Mayor's Pass and more recently the Club Challenge too, which in my opinion is the number #1 & #2 factors that have made me stop buying the Premium Mayor's Pass.
Yes I am only one individual but how many more have been or will be following suit for the same reason?
We have all noticed the steady increase in "offers" to buy Simcash though right?
We have all noticed the significant increase in various "offers" for various buildings at ridiculously high prices.
Alongside those, storage items, land items, and just about anything else that could be considered to be a commodity in the game can now be bought too.
Has anyone else wondered why the so-called classics are being punted so often as well?
Money, money, money it's all about the money.
Now this begs the question why? Which is why I am asking if EA are putting pressure for sales on the development team.
I am 100% sure that there are many players out there who, just like me have absolutely adored playing this game for years, it is visually stunning, passes the time and probably a million other different individual reasons for doing so.
I don't want to hit that big red "Delete City" button.
Why would I actually want to throw away almost 10 years worth of my spare time and the effort I have put into it that I'll never get back? Not to mention the money that I didn't feel pressured into spending on it to enhance my experience of the game?
Now there IS pressure, its horrible. You are literally trying to force us to spend money on the game, to earn a few bonus points in the Design Challenges? That's just not right at all and is pretty much the last straw for me personally.
I've worked in Hospitality for decades (managing and running bars, nightclubs etc).
If I consistently ripped off my "regulars" I wouldn't have any!
I like nothing more than hearing when my customers get asked on a Monday or whenever at their place of work -
"What did you do at the weekend?" and they have said that -
"Oh we all went to Bedlam's it was a great night"
That encourages even more new customers to do the same!
Obviously there is no "Bedlam's" so to speak - I have used that to preserve some sort of anonymity 😆
However, within my game I have friends and believe it or not, customers that I actually know in real life.
In my club, my wife of over 30 years plays the game alongside me.
So do two of my staff.
So do two of my best friends that I have known since I was in my late teens and 20's!
We have a lot in common obviously. However, think about it EA, you are driving your customers away and that's not good business at all is it?
I'm just one disgruntled customer who used to encourage people to play the game.
I don't do that now.
Think about what I'm saying EA.
Please.
