First, in this game there is a lot of cheater.
Maybe some content creator can explane in what order is THE BEST way to play assignments.

It’s the same in my league. The same ones always at the top. I can do all my challenges, choosing the highest point challenges and I can never get near them or win anything other than a small prize. After 10 years I am seriously considering stopping playing. There doesn’t seem any point any more, especially with all the cheaters in war.
I reported one in CoM that is always in position 1. It disappeared for 1 week and is now back. EA don’t care and have lost the plot totally.
I always see the same names at the top (the first three places). They are all Russians. I'm pretty sure they are cheaters. They always beat others by 10-20k points.
