Agreed. To avoid disappointment, I take test shots before submitting.
Another tip: Place a large building in the center of an empty map to see which side gets the most sunlight. This helps with orientation, as buildings look better when well-lit.
Lastly, avoid night shots - almost all winning designs are photographed in daylight.
