If I remember correctly, an older version of SimCity had a feature where you could drive through your city from the perspective of cars somewhat similar to the trains view except more ground level. Would love to see a feature like this again!

I remember it. It was a very long time ago. It was before war and Contest of mayors was added. I only tried it once or twice. It was only in the original game. They removed it when other features were added.
It was SimCity 1 on PlayStation and also could have the trains underground but had to make sure you didn’t hit the water pipes when putting that in. The stations were above ground and could have the rail line too beside the roads.
The suggestion has been made here in the forum many times over the last 10 years however it cannot be implemented. The game code is already way too large and crashes on many devices. If they go full 3D and animated, like driving through a city it would cause major issues. Maybe if they ever make a simcity buildit 2 and code it that way from the beginning but not with this mess of code after 10 years of existing it just won’t work.
