Ok, so Vu called the aliiens and destroyed 3 buildings. One of them is asking for 48 nails and 48 wood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Is there any way to get around that? I'll have to sell almost everything I have to be able to rebuild this one...Please let me know if you have any idea.

If this happens to you, ea will fix it for you!!! Send them a screenshot by opening up a support ticket at https://simcity-buildit.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new . Wow, 48 nails! What level are you! I haven't seen any rebuilds that bad, but I have only done 5 disasters so far and am at level 15. Do you have a neighbor you can communicate with? Ihave some friends from another game who also play sim city, so we use that game's chat function to ask for items we need from each other. If you are able to do that, maybe one or more of your neighbors can agree to buy a bunch of your stuff from the marketplace (make sure not to advertise it so only your neighbors see it). That will free up space in your storage so you can rebuild the building. Then ask them to put it back on the marketplace and buy it back from them. That's an idea, in fact I already came up with another soluation, but it will take time and money. Save money to farm warehouse items so I can expand my storage.It it were only 48 nails it wouldn't be so bad, but it's 48 nails AND 48 wood. It's unbelievable.What chat are you talking about? I have some friends who I play Supercell games with, and we use the in game chat there to discuss our needs in Sim City. You could probably do the same using Facebook, but not sure how the FB chat works on mobile

Im not too sure its a good idea to have large storage capacity. Theres a few discussions on this but it seems that as you upgrade storage capacity you tend to get disasters which require more and more items to rebuild..upwards of 100 items in some cases.

Personally I'm keeping my storage cap at 100 which is very low compared to others at my level (lvl.29) and I always get very easy disaster rebuilds, about 7-10 items per building for 2-3 keys. And with the market being flush with Dr VUs items I can easily do anywhere from 1-5 disaster challenges daily if I feel like it.

Some would say you cant play with this low of a storage cap but I have an extensive trading network on Game Center and LINE app and I sell lots of product so I have no problem maintaining around 80 items in my depot leaving 20 spaces for upgrades when needed.

But it may just be luck that I havent gotten one those insane disaster rebuilds. But until then I'm going to keep a low storage cap and hope for the best

IMo it's a matter of bad luck. This happened only once with me and I know other guy from the forums got a similar issue.
Mine was 96 items with 110 depot and the other guys was 156 with 180.
So when it happens (let's hope not), it'll be a quantity that will be hard anyway, doesn't matter how many slots your storage has.
But that's a theory only :P

Ah I see..yep just a matter of luck then..I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Wouldnt be so bad if you got like 20 keys off the rebuild but its a joke only getting a few ☹️

I haven't done any disasters. However, I have a High School and a Public Library, and will get a Community College shortly. Yes, it's slow going but not impossible.

Do you control when you get a disaster? Can I do one and then not bother with them after that? Or once you have unleashed Dr Vu, is he out of your control?
What does he do, anyway? What do you do with the glove, remote and battery?

You are Vu's boss :P
You TELL him to make the disasters and he requires a certain amount of his items (gloves, batteries and remotes).
He can call aliens, meteors or earthquakes.

Cargo ship does not cut it. If you wish to build most of the specialty structures sooner, you need this tower to produce the keys. I may have to agree to keep your storage space at minimal. When i launch a disaster, i'm always hoping that 4 or 5 buildings will be destroyed, that way, you get more keys using less of vu's materials. The fun thing is, theres no limit in launching disasters. It is all up to you depending on your available resources.

When the disaster occurs, are the destroyed buildings limited to Residential, or could my $72,000 police station also be destroyed by them?

I don't believe anyone answered the question but does the rebuilding require you to pay everything at the same time(like upgrading a building in this case repairing) or can you do it like the cargo ship where you they split the payment in threes.

I've done 20 disasters and have only ever had residential buildings destroyed so I'm guessing it's designed that way since I should have had at least one service building destroyed by now if not.

Repairing a building works in exactly the same way as upgrading a building - you just need to do it once to repair as opposed to multiple times when upgrading. You'll be given a list of different materials (normally 4 or 5 in my experience) that are required and once you have all the materials required you can repair that building – not before. If there are multiple buildings destroyed you can repair one and leave the others destroyed if you have limited stock/materials or inventory space.
