As soon as you try to modify something, everything freezes. It only happens in the capital. I tried reinstalling the game, but nothing. If they don't fix things, I'll abandon the game. Too bad, it was fun.

We have contacted EA support about this issue, they are aware of it and trying to fix. That was 8:30 EST on February 17, 2026.
Folks have been complaining about these issues for a year. EA support does not exist.
They could just get rid of this crappy update
Still not fixed…mine locks up the screen with a black page.
But of course EA's development team for SCBI has so much crap going on in this game - it's a wonder it works at all. They need to refine the code and get back to where none of these issues ever happened 5-7 years ago. Take out WAR, take out Monsters, take out Trains and so on. And most of all - which may be the very culprit of all these issues: is the constant bombardment of advertising.
It seems apparent they are taking out WAR or at least making it more and more difficult to get supplies, warmoleons etc.

Same thing happens to me except the game also completely freezes. Only option is to close app. Completely unplayable. Geez, if they wanted to end this game, why not just eliminate it and save us all this headache.
I’ve got the same issue. Game locks up and screen corrupted. Reported this 2 weeks ago, Now got services update but I can’t complete any changes as it locks up. Contacted support and they said it will be fixed in 24 hours. I’m not holding my breath

I have been playing this game for 4 years and have bought the premium mayors pass almost every cycle. I'm a 99 level player. My cities are very carefully planned out, and now you're saying I have to add more service buildings that I have no room for? And all of my service buildings have been downgraded??
Also, I just spent over 130k neosimoleons to update one section of one of my cities, and it wasnt even enough to finish that section.
Additionaly, the newly added requirement of fixing of buildings is awful. I don't want to have to fix buildings that I have already spent a ton of resources building and upgrading. This all just feels like a huge money grab.
What a shame. I really enjoyed playing this game. You just completely ruined it with these updates.
The freezing is very constant on some days. It only happened in the Capital but last week it was happening in my largest region. It’s extremely frustrating. Is it your servers?
It is absolutely on their end, no doubt because they only maintain the minimum to keep the game up, that is why you can never get a resolution from them.
I had that on Fire it repeatedly did it but going in police and then to fire it worked
