Looking for an update - Freezing since Services 2.0

I’m looking to see if anyone has an update or fix for the skipping or freezing issue with my game?  I know the designers will not answer this.  I have an Apple phone.  Since the start of the new Services 2.0 season(10 days now), the game constantly skips or freezes. It is definitely decreasing my play time, and I started playing other games and looking for another City builder games. I’ve invested over 2 years and lots of money on this game. But my enjoyment level has decreased significantly with all these updates and money making changes.

For instance, just the change of 3 weeks per season versus 4 and increasing the Mayor’s contest premium from $7.99 to $8.99 will increase their money intake $50 a person per year for all who are longtime players.    One or the other would have been an increase in revenue, but both just makes it a little more unbearable.

This is only a working theory.

I suspect these issues have only gotten worse since March to June 2025.

It is my belief, the A-Series chipsets are most affected because they are older.

Game mode was introduced in iOS 18 in 2024, followed by Liquid Glass in June 2025.

I suspect that the code on both sides, Apple and EA, are optimized effectively in the M-Series chipsets where the standard troubleshooting methods work.

As a result, the VRAM is exhausting itself in the A-Series.

For A-Series, I suggest these two steps above...

     3. Make sure there are 2-15 GB of storage space for working memory.

    4. offload/reinstall the game.

    5. Hard Restart... A normal shutdown/restart keeps the working memory where it's at. A forced restart resets the working memory to zero.

    Try this.

  • I've looked into this issue extensively. It is not affecting all Apple devices in the same way.

    What device do you have?

Most common causes of crashing are:

    1. out of date software (which you've shown is not the case)
    2. Low memory/storage space
    3. Corrupted files -offload and reinstall app to correct that.
    4. Interruptions in internet connection

When's the last time you "forget network" and signed back in? When is the last time you reset your router?
