- Anonymous11 years agoThis is still an issue. Ten plus days later. My slots are filled with chairs, shovels and other fast sellers for over a day. All advertised. Plus it is so annoying that 95% of the time I click on an item it is no longer in the inventory of the seller! Then the few times the item is there, I get the "item is no more available" error. So there are obviously some big bugs in this system. I want to love this game, but am sick of wasting so much time and getting no where.
- Anonymous11 years agoI've found that adding a slot and listing an item helps, but it gets gets very expensive, very old, quick. And it's not a guaranteed fix. I'm losing Simoleons every twenty minutes this is down, and the offers you get in the game aren't what I'd normally make. Can someone from EA respond and expand on this issue? Clearly it's a problem if we're all experiencing it.

The fact that they haven't directly responded to this issue, shows that it is NOT a bug, but an intended design to control the pace/flow of Global market.
They are very aware of this issue, and have no plans to fix it.
There seems to be some hidded "cap" on the amount of money you are able to earn or the amount of transactions you can post on the Global market in a set period.
- Anonymous11 years agoSo you're supposing that there might be a correlation between the amount made/sold and the amount of slots purchased and the lack of sales in a set time frame? I'm open to this theory, although I'd love some sort of confirmation from EA. Even an idea of what the cap is, so we can determine and regulate our output. I don't know if anyone else takes this game as serious as I do, but I find it to be a great outlet for my micromanaging fixation.

I am as crazy about this game as you are dancyclist. I just started playing sim city a few weeks ago and am addicted. When I first started playing a didn't use the global trading HQ at all. When I did list an item it took days to sell and I didn't really know how it(global trading HQ) worked until just a few days a ago. I listed some shovels and they sold in seconds. I was really surprised and started listing more items. And I couldn't keep my slots full I was even purchasing items listed on the HQ and selling them for a higher price. Starting yesterday morning though all selling stopped for me. It didn't know what happened until I hit this FAQ. We do need a response from EA. I love EA and this is a awesome game but they need to be honest to their customers and fans and let us know what the limit is; it is obvious there is a limit. Happy New Year to all!
- Anonymous11 years agoI literally donate my factory time to selling, and supplying the cargo ship, which I have my alarm clock set for to maximize efficiency. My city is finely tuned and optimized for maximum population with minimal building, to best utilize what I currently have. If you ever see "Bay Village" on the market, it's probably me, and I list many things at once. I need this cap to either be explained, or lifted. I'm just glad we're able to band together as a community on this forum.
- Anonymous11 years ago@Ea_Kristi, I had to add an additional slot to my trade depot in order for things to sell, despite being able to sell just fine up until about 5 hours ago. My user ID is 32826910. Can you give me any insight on why this may be happening?
- Anonymous11 years agoI think it may be due to the different servers. For example, if you are in the US, you can only get access to the North American Server I guess, and it is the same for the European Server, Middle East Server, East Asia Server and Southeastern Asia Server. I don't know if it is true, but my friend is in different country and I cannot see the items that he put in his trade depot. Maybe the so called Global Trade HQ is not global at all, but regional or local.
- Anonymous11 years agowell there is definitly something going on here.. got the 'cantsellnothingwithgoodpriceswhichsoldperfectlybefore' here now too.. how are we supposed to get simoleons now?!? the game is unplayable without getting simoleons..
and making us delete stuff from the trade market because its not sellable anymore is just theft..
something needs to be done about the workings of this principle.. when only newly added stuff might sell and old stuff doesnt, theres clearly something wrong.. - Anonymous11 years agoif an item is already sold, or you get the error 'item not available anymore' is clearly a 'you were beaten to it' problem.. in other words 'you werent fast enough'. with so many people wanting to buy the 'cheap stuff' thats no surprise..
there real problem here is that some items dont seem to be getting listed.. the server might be to busy and doesnt get the request but the game doesnt try to post it again maybe?!? looks like a technical problem..
a gameplay problem clearly is that old items seem to be lost in space and time and never get any attention anymore.. only the new stuff posted by everyone gets the attention..
a good revamp of the trade center might be in order here..
hope it will be fixed soon..
