My Railroad Tracks Deleted

My railroad tracks in two of my regions refuse to connect as they previously did. I have deleted all the surrounding roads and attempted to reestablish the connection. The roads simple won’t connect. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have and now I have a gap in the road where the rail line was as I removed the station and put it into storage. Don’t think I’ll put it back where it was as I have 6 stations running ok.
