What is the MYSTERY button for?

Hi,

When upgrading a building, there are two buttons below the Rewards legend box, one to request new plans with a recycle symbol on it, and another button with a no-entry symbol. What does the button with the no-entry symbol do? (see screenshot).

When clicked, the button shows the architect Sim saying "Do you want Sims to upgrade another Residential Building? Ask the architect to draw up some new plans and find some other Residential Building to be upgraded."

How does this differ from the other button to request new plans?

Cheers,

Kaine

I heard it was for canceling further upgrades but I'm not sure as I don't know how to do this. I clicked on the button and had to wait 30 minutes but for what? Then what to do next? If I go and look for other buildings to upgrade, I did this, nothing happens.

Maybe short explanation or a YouTube info from EA would be nice 🙂

    Hi estanleyk,

That doesn't make any sense. Why not just click on the other building and upgrade it instead?

From what I've seen, it seems to "temporarily" stop the upgrade of the building. There are clearly some vague rules around it's behaviour, but the rules elude me. It would be great to get some clarity.

It sounds simple but has really no use because you are playing new houses to upgrade it one by one. If you place 5 or 20 buildings you still have to upgrade one by one. A canceling button would be more useful in my view of the games so we can keep nice small villages and not only high towers in the hood.

But it's not the first blurry add to the update

Yeah I agree that is useless, and I found the button is used when there are more than 5 buildings ready for upgrade (simcity has the upgrade limit to 5 buildings).

And I am also looking for something that can lock the building shape.... zzzz

Some players like, low level buildings and don't want to upgrade them further. This button allows them to keep that building at the level they like. It has a 30 min delay just like the other button, to keep people from constantly clicking it to find a plan they like. Cheers

It will allow you to move onto another building until you have no other building to upgrade - and then it forces you to upgrade that building again. I too, would like to limit the sizes of buildings just like Mayor Daniel has. But keep in mind, visitors don't see the upgrade hats in your cities, only you do. But that still doesn't help.
