  • Hi @m7md077 - It sounds as if you're playing SimCity 5 (2013)? I don't believe there are any other SimCity games with multiplayer mode, so I have moved your message to the SimCity 2013 forum.

Error Code SMCY19 points to an error reaching the servers. This is almost always due to something blocking the program from reaching the Internet, usually a firewall setting or anti-virus setting. Please close down SimCity and check that your Internet connection is working correctly. If you have a proxy server enabled on your connection, disconnect from the proxy and then try again. If the problem still exists, try the steps below to see if you can identify the issue:

Always run installation files "As Administrator"
Firewall and Antivirus - Make sure SimCity.exe and Origin.exe are added to exception lists. If you have BitDefender installed, disable it. In Windows 10 Defender, add Origin and SimCity to the exception list or disable Controlled Folder Access.
Graphics drivers and OS are patched and updated to newest versions
SimCity.exe and Origin.exe - Set them to run "as administrator"
Nahimic from MSI - this is an audio management program that comes with MSI motherboards. Disable or uninstall it. Nahimic 2 & 3 are known to cause this issue.
Disable Origin in-game In Origin main menu, right-click SimCity icon, Game Properties, check the box that says "Disable Origin In-game"
Run in Windows 7 or 8 compatibility mode - right-click SimCity shortcut; choose Properties > Compatibility tab > Check the box to run in Win 7 or 8 compatibility mode

If none of these work, try a Clean Boot https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/ and attempt to launch SimCity. If it launches, you'll have some detective work to do. Enable one startup program at a time, reboot, try SimCity, until you find the program that is blocking it. Once you find the offending program, disable or uninstall it. You should be able to launch SimCity successfully without doing the clean boot after disabling the offending program.

Definitely post back and let us know whether something worked. If it still won't run, reply back with any error messages you're getting and attach a dxdiag report

    Happy Building!

Hi @rtaus1 - Error code SMCY19 points to a connectivity problem. In your screen shot, I can see the message Error Updating on the load screen. It may have just been a temporary situation, but if you're still getting the error, try logging out of SimCity and checking your Internet connection. If you're using a proxy, try without. If possible, try checking it with a wired connection instead of the wifi.

If the Internet connection checks out, then log out of SimCity. Go to Origin > My Library > right-click on the SimCity game > Repair. Your computer must be online in order to do the repair. If the repair completes with no issues, check to see if you can get into the game. If the repair does not complete or the game still throws an error, please review and follow the steps in the post directly above yours

If you still have the problem, please reply back with any other error messages you may get (screenshots are a great help) & a copy of your dxdiag

    How to DxDiag

    To post your DxDiag:

    1. Select the 'Choose file' button below the post box

    2. Find the DxDiag file and select it - hit Open

    3. Add text to your post and hit Submit
