Re "I will take your money, thank you, and if it don't work oh! well, Next", it's not like that at all. The CD versions of the 2003 game SimCity4 work just fine, with the Windows operating system that existed in 2003 (namely, Windows XP). And they still do! However, you will need to get an old Windows XP computer, because Windows 10 is NOT compatible with SimCity4. But that's Microsoft's fault, not EA's fault. EA has nothing to do with that and NO control over it, so don't blame them. (They're not perfect; but on THIS issue, they're not the guilty party.)
Alternatively, you can apparently re-purchase a digital copy of SimCity4 through the "Origin" web site, and use THAT on Windows 10. It works, because it avoids the incompatibility problem between the CD version of SimCity4 and Windows10, which was due to a conflict between the "SafeDisk" copy-protection technology used by the SimCity4 CDs, and Windows10 which does not allow SafeDisk.
I'm attempting to find a way to install my existing SimCity4 onto Origin without re-purchasing it (since I already paid for it when I bought it back around 2003), but I'm not sure if that's possible.
So for now, I'm using SC4 only on my old WindowsXP machine. I'd like to install it on my Windows10 machine, but it would apparently have to be through "Origin", as the CD version can't be used with Windows 10 at all.,
