it rains you have to zoom in.

the same here ,,
the water is no longer available in my city ,, I had to buy from neighbours
Last time I checked rain is not refilling the water levels correctly. The only work around for infinite water is placing it next to the sewage treatment plant and building water filters.

There definitely was rain in the final Beta... I seen it a lot but have never seen it in the final version and my city is almost out of water... What then?? Do I have to start a new city?? That sucks!!
I never played the beta but I remember it raining when the game first launched. I haven't seen it since the 1.1 or 1.2 update though. I have a city with no access to the region and don't have space for the sewage treatment/water pump work around.
Really need it to rain.

Rain does not recharge the water table. Knock off the rain dancing.
Also, this is the beta.
As it stands, if you want sustainable water, build your pump next to your sewage treatment plant. The sloshing poop-water DOES recharge the watertable. One of the countless workarounds you have to employ if you want to build a city in this non-simulator city.
I know I don't want to drink poop-water in real life.

If rain doesn't replenish the water table to any degree then why does the sim in the water tab say that 'rain replenishes the water table'.

Having the same problem and there is no one who is selling water in my region.
Nice workaround with the sewage treatment plant but that only tells me that the devs loved the middle ages a lot. 🙂
Back then, it was living with sewage and water simultaneously. No wonder my sims in the city are getting sick all the time. A new disaster not listed: Amoebic Dysentery. You can only see the rain if you are zoomed in when it is raining. You can see the rain cloud if you go to region view. It usually rains in the early morning on SimCity.

The water is being filtered and treated, and dumped back into the water table as fresh clean water. If you use this method, you also can just use the regular water pumps and don't need the more expensive water filtration pumps.
If your sims are getting sick all the time, it's likely due to pollution. Check the ground and air pollution maps - you can get rid of ground pollution by planting forests and air pollution by planting those roadside trees. You have to be pretty consistent on this, but it will clean them up. I plant the roadside trees downwind of all factories, and plop forests every month or so.
