I just use in-game screenshots and blending modes to create the base mockup, nothing special at all 🙂
The artwork is a mix of using existing logos or recreating logos, and then just having some fun. I try to keep everyone included in my concepts; things that would be lightweight for the devs, but still valuable to the players.
I work in game development and fashion design, so the experience helps a lot for sure.
