I rsvp'd for the new playtest and have been checking DAILY for the invite. today I got a email from ea to update my rsvp info for my account to start signing up for rsvp's again - but no sign whatsoever that the rsvp has been acknowledged so now im paranoid im not gonna get to play due to some glitch or error in processing. is there anyway I can go about verifying or resolving this issue. It's killing me.

YO, I had the same issue --- as did many others -- I called my boy who works in EA and he told me to just update or check in my EA app and my library -- apparently for returning or older EA accounts people didn't receive an email.
I checked and it was there. This seems to be super common. so go check ur library in the EA app !!!! Happy skating my boy.
