I too am a footplant connoisseur and I agree with you brother. They updated footplants and the animation and feel is now 2x as good as it used to be, but the CONTROL is lacking IMO.
Let me explain;
***2 Tricks that are no longer possible after the update:
1.) No-Input(L-stick) Footplant. (Non directional, footplant and land where you footplanted from.) Straight up straight down. No lateral motion.
2.) Footplant "stall" and change directions. Footplants are now HEAVILY momentum based and offer very little control aside from "hopping forward" I used to skate towards little ledges and Ollie, tip backwards a tiny bit, footplant the edge at an angle, and return the direction from which I came from originally.
These 2 techniques are no longer possible as I have spent countless hrs trying to re-create the tricks I used to do.
