In-game name randomly changed.. no way to change back.

My in game name randomly changed to someone else’s name on my Xbox friends list, and when I check the linked accounts associated with my EA account there is no such account linked so the name seems to have inexplicably changed for no reason as far as I can tell. I contacted the friend whose name I’m now hijacking apparently - and they said they haven’t even used their account recently so this wasn’t an accidental linkage from him signing in from his end or anything. Not sure if there’s a fix out there but just curious what anyone else has to say about this or if anyone else has experienced it?
