Are they ever going to take this seriously or are we just done as consumers and accepting the slop provided?

They have been.
The devs are absolutely committed to making this a wonderful free-to-play experience for all in the community. If you'd like something added or changed, post what you desire. Player focus in the forum is to make recommendations, that's all, and being unclear about specific topics of change isn't helpful to anyone.
