My Season One feedback...

I've grinded a ton in this game, looking every bit of progress and detail they've added. As someone who loves it more than the original trilogy—thanks to the upgraded skating and stunting mechanics—this Season One update feels so empty that I can't recommend the skate. pass to anyone. It hits like a slap in the face, especially for people who paid for the Founders Pack (yes... me included). That said, I'll start with the positives:

  • Lighting: Playing on Ultra settings (FPS capped at 45 via the Nvidia App—I don't need more), the game looks stunning the longer you play, a huge step up from preseason. It's not perfect (dark skin tones still need work), but it's a solid improvement. Fingers crossed for more tweaks down the line.
  • Pumping Buff: Pumping has been buffed again, and now you get massive air in verts—almost on par with Skate 3. It's a fantastic quality-of-life change. I just don't get why this wasn't called out in the patch notes. Gameplay tweaks like this are exactly what we need to hear about!
  • Daily Rip Chip Rewards Buff: THANK YOU, FULL CIRCLE—seriously, thank you! 20 chips per challenge and 10 per co-op strikes a perfect balance for solo and co-op players (up from 5 per challenge and 20 per co-op before). Now we're pulling in up to 2,500–3,000 chips daily, compared to 1,800–2,500 in preseason. That means way less grinding for boxes.
  • "Harder" Challenges: The new seasonal challenges feel legitimately tough now—totally manageable, but a welcome ramp-up. That line mission with the clean grinds and the time-limit one? Chef's kiss. I also spotted a bugged stunt mission with six challenges (hope that's patched soon). Let's keep pushing toward more difficult, fun, and rewarding stuff.

And... that's about it for the positives. Now, the negatives:

  • PC Optimization? What Optimization?: No DLSS out of the box (unless you hack it in via Nvidia updates), FPS capping issues for some users, insane PC strain on unlimited FPS, and painfully slow load times at 30 FPS. These were problems before preseason, and there's zero progress here. It's starting to feel like a real issue for me and everyone else.
  • "New" Skateable Areas: When you hyped new areas, I was hoping for Brickswich (nope, it's delayed to Season 2). Otherwise, maybe the underground road at Hedgement, the Hedgemont Mall, or the O.R.B. interior at Market Mile? Instead, you just sprinkled in some ramps in the skateway, around the Orb, and on a tower. Don't get me wrong—it's a nice touch—but it's nowhere near what we expected. At minimum, drop the Isle of Grom (tutorial island) with no challenges, and we'd be thrilled!
  • The New Cosmetics: This is a letdown for free and paid players alike. Creature, Independent Trucks, and Santa Cruz are cool additions, but nothing's free—not even a single sticker. And the paid stuff? Disappointing. One Independent Trucks deck costs 150 SVB and looks 95% like the default ones from your starter board. No shade, but some decks are just brand logos on recolored backgrounds—those could've been for free, at least.
  • Skate Pass Cosmetics: I get that the costume ties into San Vansterdam's goofy, dumb-fun lore, but it just doesn't appeal to me. Outside the brand gear, Riders Republic nails goofy and stylish skins way better than this.
  • Progression Is Still Bad: Even with seasonal challenges, we're stuck waiting (who knows when) for the next reset to refresh dailies and new content. This formula needs an overhaul—full stop.

I apologize if this comes off too negative. I want this game to succeed—I really do. But based on what we've seen so far, it's not inspiring much hope. Please fix some of these issues before (or in) the next season.
