Totally agree the game just feels like a grind for points.
I'm nearing the end of the 'story' missions and it's nothing more than a collection of the normal in-game challenges, but with some irrelevant context like 'Shingo wants to show you this place, now do a line with two grinds'.
There is no sense of growth or progression through the game. I have literally zero care for how many 'points' I've collected. It is meaningless to the context of the game. I just don't get it. There is no story, no narrative, no depth, nothing.
Yea,
I understand the story might not be fleshed out yet as this is "early access". However its more the FLESH of the game is missing, Skate 3 was amazing not only because of a sick story (Which was onbrand and forfilling) but beacuse of the game itself felt like it was built for skaters by skaters. This "Skate." feels like it was built by people that know what skateboarding is but want to add a cosmetic "fun" spin on it.
I dont care about some AI telling me what to do to progress, i miss meeting Rob Derdek and him telling me i need to make a clip and photo shoot for a magazine. The story felt like a SKATER.
I know the "Rebellion" personality of Skate 3 (Hitting people with boards and making people angry wont carry across). But "Skate." feel "Too safe".
The map, flow of skating, goal and minigames for multiplayer are the four things they should work on to make this game SO MUCH better.
