Screen goes black until I tab in.

With the new update, I created a character and then when it was loaded to the tutorial the screen went black. I alt+tab out and the game is still running but when I alt+tab back into the game, it runs for about 2 to 3 seconds and goes black again. This continues until I close the game. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck. The start menu runs just fine. It doesn't go black until it is done configuring. This makes me think there is an issue with the cloud save file as after I install the game, it takes me back to the tutorial with my character I already made. I can't find how to restart the cloud save.
