Unc review 9/23/25

Gotta rant sorry. Grew up on older skate games. I dont remember it being this stiff. From purely mechanics pov and maybe its just analog controllers i use… i can imagine PC different. But why is every input on one analog… i dont remember if past was this way. But would seem to make much more sense to make grab, flip, and grind on individual buttons. While still using flick it system to chose a variation based on direction. Among other things. I find literally any slight variation of surface throws you straight off board. Landing from anything higher than 10 feet ankles are done. From stand still takes way too long to gain little speed you get without a hill which seems to be wiped instantly on any bowl or curved ramp. Landing basic curb grinds seem way more difficult than the big crazy ones. Another thing i can not figure out for life of me is why camera stays horizontal low to ground for much of gameplay. Especially during missions. When 1000 suns is blinding you i cant see a thing 2 inches infront me. Camera should be fixed above skater slight down angle. It honestly seems like comboing moves is impossible. As it makes you animate each move indivually the single analog can not repeatedly quickly stack moves. Now i know a big chunk of this is skill issue. But ive spent days messing with setting to almost get it visually the same as 3. Still the missions feel so crowded and unwell placed that theyre unplayable, and free roaming with friends is more enjoyable… making own challenges. I dont even have anything bad to say about map design even tho many say its lackluster and lacking variation. Idc about the shop people dont like. Its purely the mechanics feel wonky and idk if thats a result of focusing too much on realism. The challenges would be fun if executed slightly better. But idk this is too unplayable currently. Hopefully we see more changes.
