@VetteC5RXIt seems to me that if a game ships broken or in a mess, and then needs a year or two to fix, then it falls off people's radar completely. New games that aren't broken and are of high quality keep coming out. Gamers will go play them instead of waiting to see if a developer will fix a game or not. That's a big part of what happened with Battlefront 2. Even two years later there were people that thought loot boxes were still in the game. They weren't even paying attention to it at all.
But again, here we are back at the reality that EA pulled support too soon. Given the fact that Age of Rebellion has no capital ships on Supremacy, a recycled map in Scarif, and Age of Resistance has no hangars in their capital ships, I think the decision to pull support was made well before this content came out...likely sometime in Fall 2019 before Rise of Skywalker.
That's too soon to even see what kind of impact the content could have had or where DICE could continue to take the game from there.
@ArchAngeL-PCX I still play this game and have played it since pre release and there were some issues at launch but the game was very much playable.
Many of the interim updates were logical changes and while many were good the problem here is that, as a developer, if you feel that you need to completely revamp the gameplay feel and mechanic of your game your essentially telling everyone that it’s garbo and that doesn’t help.
for the middle portion of its life BF2 was actually a good game “gameplay” wise. Some of the content is missing and other content just makes you wonder why they wasted the time (Scariff), this says to me that the development team really didn’t have any clear direction or workflow here and helps to explain why so many things are still bad with this game.
rather than working on lackluster content they could have focused on improving the issues players were complaining about.
Giving the game away for free or nearly free will have an initial draw but as people play the game and discover the clumsy mechanics and inconsistent gameplay feel I don’t see them staying with it. If you look up this game on Reddit many of the gamers have written it off already for those reasons.
