Aim gets stuck moving after letting go of right stick.

Product: Star Wars Battlefront II
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
What is your issue related to? General
Summarize your bug When moving the right stick to look around, I can let go of the stick, and sometimes the aim will keep moving in whatever direction I was pushing. Happens in campaign and multiplayer from what I've experienced.
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name?
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Can you tell us the date (MM/DD/YYYY) that you saw the bug? 03/09/2019
What time did you see the bug? (HH:MM AM/PM)
In what game mode did the bug occur? Galactic Assault
What is your time zone? GMT (UTC)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? There was a spot in the campaign after you try to sneak into a base and then you go up an elevator but Hask already knows you're there. When you leave the building, there are two gates leading to stairs and an AT-ST to kill. On the left gate (left gate if viewing the enemies' direction as forward) I managed to recreate the bug 100% of the time, without fail. Just as I walked through, if I was moving my aim, it got stuck momentarily. I know this isn't my controller because I was able to recreate it consistently. Just play and if it's a problem with everyone (sounds like I'm not the only one from Reddit and other forums) then it should happen pretty often.
What happens when the bug occurs? I move my right stick and let go and the aim keeps moving.
What do you expect to see? If/when it's fixed? For me to move my right stick and let go and the aim to *not* keep moving.
Please select your region Europe
AMD or Nvidia Model Number

Please fix this, it makes it both difficult and frustrating to play what is otherwise a brilliant game.

Bonus complaint/request/question: could we please get an option to turn off double-tap forward to sprint? Not completely get rid of it, just add an option.

Thank you DICE 🙂

  • Why did you post the same bug twice?

Its not a bug, your joystick on your controller is worn out.  This has been adressed multiple times.

If you go into your gameplay options theres a toggle for running.

To be honest I thought one hadn't posted, thanks for pointing it out.

This isn't a problem with running or toggle running. It's a problem with aiming. I can be walking, crouching, running or sprinting, it doesn't matter. My AIM get's stuck in a direction. This DOES NOT happen in any other game. Only Battlefront 2. Sorry for the caps but I feel i need to make that explicitly clear. It's seemingly random but the fact that I could re-create it on a very specific area of a mission, means that it isn't my controller. I could force it to do the bug 95% of the time on a very small specific space.

Again, this doesn't happen in any other game. It's not my controller. Nor is it anything to do with my left stick or running.

Edit: it's also not my stick deadzone. There IS a deadzone, but the setting is wayyyy past the stick's deadzone. I made sure to test it when I changed the setting. The deadzone does not mess with my aim.

Edit 2: I'm gonna play again now and try without aim assist turned on. However, if that fixes it, just because it does so, does not mean it's not a bug. I should be able to have aim assist on, and not have a problem.

Edit 3: As expected, turning aim assist off did nothing to fix it.
