AMD 8970m Strange Graphics problem (Yellow screen.)

I have also posted this on the AMD forums.

I am getting this very bizarre yellow screen when I load the game (see the screen shot.)

System Specs:

Windows 10

Processor: AMD A10-5750M quad core

GPU: AMD 8650G/8970M

Ram: 16 Gigs

SSD drive

Not sure what else is relevant?

(I have attached a screenshot, and my DX diag.)

I have tried multiple configurations with my system (through AMD settings, and even through the Bios.)

Oddly enough, when I completely disable my 8970M (which is the GPU that should be able to run this game) it looks perfectly normal (no yellow screen, but obviously runs slow as hell since the 8650G isn't up to par.)

I would really appreciate some help. Been wanting to play this game since it game out (purchased it on day one.) I seem to recall with the 2015 SWBF 1, I had a similar issue, and I can't remember what I did to fix it (a direct x dll? or some console command?) Any help would really be appreciated.

    @Malthusian77

Having combed your Dxdiag again, here are some more suggestions:

    • Install monitor drivers
    • Remove any other attached hardware peripherals (ELAN input device?)
    • Free up more hard drive space
    • Have you performed any custom registry edits?
    • What is DLLHost.exe? it is causing some issues
    • Manually run all vcredist files from game install location

    Hi Barry,

    Thanks for the follow up.

I will have to give these a try when I have a chance. (Later this week or next weekend).

Not sure if it is related, but event viewer is also showing a problem with atidxx64.dll (i think, I am not home right now) causing titan fall 2 to crash.

I will have to look into dllhost.exe and where it is installed, it should be a standard Microsoft program unless it got jacked.

Can't do much about the ssd space, it is only a 120gb drive.

No custom reg edits I can think of other than removing anything raptr gaming evolved related as per AMD's uninstall recommendation.

I will report back when I know more.

    Thanks again.

I can confirm dllhost.exe is installed under system32, so it is likely not been jacked by a virus:
    https://www.file.net/process/dllhost.exe.html

Although it's file size is 21kb, so this doesn't seem correct.

I can also confirm that atidxx64.dll is crashing Titanfall 2

Here is the event viewer report:

Faulting application name: Titanfall2.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5a2711ff

Faulting module name: atidxx64.dll, version: 8.17.10.648, time stamp: 0x56d0aed0

    Exception code: 0xc0000005

    Fault offset: 0x00000000006ce1d4

    Faulting process id: 0x4f8

    Faulting application start time: 0x01d38822b8202149

    Faulting application path: D:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Titanfall2\Titanfall2.exe

    Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\atidxx64.dll

    Report Id: 7454faff-dca1-4e3c-ae32-1a84b832909e

    Faulting package full name:

    Faulting package-relative application ID:

I will keep looking into this, and also try some of the other suggestions you made when I have time.

    Thanks again.
