Banned accountd

Question

I am just curious, has anyone ever been banned, because of “being found cheating”?

My boys and I play Battlefront pretty regularly, and sometimes two of us will play together. I got an email about a week ago saying my account was banned for cheating. I know for a fact that I have not cheated. My boys are both 12 years old, and don’t have enough computer knowledge to even know how to cheat on a game like this, because that would require messing with programs, I think. I don’t even know how to do it either, and have no desire to cheat, and same goes for my boys.

I’ve tried appealing my case to EA, which always takes me to sending them an email, which gives an automated response. It has been no help at all. Does anyone know a better way to appeal a ban in a situation like this? We enjoy the game. I’d hate to get rid of it because of being falsely accused, and not being able to find a remedy.

I believe you are conflating cheating with hacking. Any 12 year old can easily cheat. Hacking requires more "computer knowledge", although 12 year olds are capable of this too. (I'm not saying your boys cheated.)
If you haven't already, I suggest you search this forum for "appeal". You will see posts like this one that may help.

I do realize there’s a difference between cheating and hacking, but on a game like Battlefront, I wouldn’t even know how, if I wanted to, and same for them. Sure they’re old enough to have the knowledge, but I know that they don’t.

As far as the appeal ban thing, I have tried that several times, and it seems to be an automated message in reply every time. It basically says they won’t change their decision, and they then give me the link to go straight back to same place, if I feel like I have been wrongfully accused, which leaves me in a seemingly never ending circle.

Honestly, I don’t know my way around forums. I don’t normally ever have a reason to be on them, lol. Though everything that I have come across so far has taken me straight to that same thing where you send them an email.
