battle front 2 says it's not installed

Trying to play SW BF II with friends. But then they invite me my pop up says "install the game to play" when I'm already in the game. I've uninstalled both the game itself and the EA launcher, and cleared the launcher cache. nothing works.

Same bro, I've had this problem for a literal 3 months. No fix at all. I contacted EA support and they said they'd look into it but it's been over a month. I changed PCs to see what would happen and no change, so it's definitely server side/EA-sided issue.

its because they dont do maintenance like they should

  • Since EA hasn't responded yet, I'm coming back to let them know I'm still experiencing this issue.

Yes, me and my brother also have this problem (for about a month, I think).  We can neither send out a request to play nor accept invitations because we need to "install the game" first, even though we're already in the program.  We play through Steam and haven't had this problem in the past.

I'm eager to fix this issue so we can get back to blasting bucketheads (or clankers) again.

  • Just recently got this problem. Also noticed a few other things that seem to be linked to that:

    1. EA app is not correctly recognizing, that I have the celebration edition. My stuff is still there, but on the EA app, it's recommending me upgrading to the celebration edition.
    2. One of my friends still gets the notifications normally, as in can accept them. For him, he gets the notifications with a warning/danger symbol
    3. It seems to depend on what app it was installed from:
      1. When installed through Steam, launching from either EA app or Steam the problem persists.
      2. when installed in the EA app, getting invitations works, but I get other graphical issues then, that are not present with the Steam install

I have the game both on epic games and steam

@ralindaro this happens to me just with the EA app its something on their end that they dont want to fix just like how many times it takes you to connect to their servers from the main menu they just dont do anything
  • I'm not having the issue anymore. I got the game free through Epic a while back, so I uninstalled then installed again through Epic. I don't know if that exactly is the solution because it just installs through EA App anyway, but I can accept invites now. I launch through EA App just like I used to. I hope this somehow works for other people because EA doesn't care to help us.

This is still an issue for me.  I play through Steam and cannot accept invites.  EA, could you please fix this for me.

Similarly I got it in a bundle on Steam. It works.

Why it won't work in EA's own launcher makes no sense.

    Thanks for nothing EA.

  • Just here to say I am having this issue, was working fine but now can't accept any invites with the same message, same platform as my friends as well. Is there really no fix?
