Battlefront 2 horrible server lag

Epic made the game free so I know there are tons of new and returning players. But the server lag is unplayable. I keep rubber banding and teleporting me around. It also stops for a second then has to catch up. When I run every 3rd step it has to pause then resume. The lag on the servers is so bad it's unplayable.

I know EA will do nothing like they usually do.

I know I have to wait until the masses start to trickle away.

But that is sad that I have to just wait until people loose interest in order to play a game because EA wants to put the money in their own pockets then buy more servers.

  • Just wanted to update people on some research I have done to try and make this work at least on my end.

I opened the game and under EA settings, I turned off the sending info to EA incase this was a problem.

I have also turned off my firewall and I noticed when I was adding an app through firewall that SWBF2 only the public servers were checked off. So I checked off the private server boxes too.

I also when in game I looked up in my resource monitor to get the IP address to see where they were connecting me.

Well I live in southern California and every single game I join EA wants to put me in Wichita Kansas.

I don't get the bars icon in top right corner. But the lag is still there. But I did noticed when I turned off my firewall and checked those boxes that my lag was a tiny bit better. But as the game continues to play out the pausing and freezing in game is still there.

There is nothing I can do on my end. EA just wants to connect me to Kansas for what reason I do not know.

BTW I have a new computer with a 3070 and my internet is Spectrum with 200mbs down and 10mbs up.

EA you are seriously screwing your fan base up right now. To be honest I don't think you deserve the Star Wars brand. I hope Ubisoft crushes their open world Star Wars game and you lose the brand to Ubisoft.

After trying something new. I found that what if I reset my router. Maybe my provider is putting me some where that EA and them dont match. So I reset my internet and the lag is gone. Apparently I was on a network from my provider that did not get a long with EA servers. (typical).

I did notice that the last number in the IP changed. The server IP I was connected to was 158.153.38.38 - the new one is 158.153.38.39 so that 39 is I think made the difference.
