  • Hello @KemonoWan.

Who said that there is matchmaking? If they are in a team and you are alone and there are only a few players in the game at that moment, there cannot be matchmaking, else there would be no match for you. By the way level mean nothing if you have all your Star Cards maxed out. If you are a beginner and alone and all the others are playing this game for years, have high levels and play together its your fault.

You have to play, play and play and play with 4 teammates and play with teamwork.

I played with high levels in a match against really low levels, they had better team work and we lost this match.

    Dont be blinded by levels!

    Greetings

  • i understand what your saying. but sometimes i just want to hop on the game casually without having to coordinate every single battle. every battle i get into is so one sided that some coordination wouldn’t even matter. i would have a team full of dudes who have level 1 perks while the whole enemy team is stacked with guys with maxed out perks. i’m trying to grind so i can level them up all i’m saying is it makes it way too challenging for new players. playable, but waaaayyyyy too frustrating.  i just want more casual play and i’m saying there’s got to be a way the developers can at LEAST improve on it.

  • I feel your pain, it's a nightmare playing HvV solo. Too many quitters and usually the enemy team is a party of 3 or 4 but It's a bit too late for the developers to do anything now sadly. They're done with the game. A tip for you when you're in the lobby just look at all their ranks. Usually a 3 or 4 stack will all have high gold levels although don't forget that a few got their ranks playing co op so a rank doesn't necessarily mean they're good. Just like the other guy said, you just need a team that sticks together and good communication.

In my opinion, one of the most broken things about matchmaking for HvV is the game will start 3v3 and right at the start of the match the server adds a player to the enemy team (for me usually) and not your team and you play the whole game a man down, and even more frustrating is  at times if someone on the enemy team quits out making it fair teams again the server will add another player to the enemy team again!!! That is broken matchmaking right there.

  • @KemonoWan like @TiNie1977 warned, don't trust on matchmaking. However, it's not due to scarcity of players. It's due to its nature: Battlefront II's Matchmaking was nothing more then a way for devs to reduce the strain on their servers by merging lobbies together upon map changing. This way there would be less half-full lobbies, so people would play in fuller lobbies more oftenly, and that was the official reason they gave us for matchmaking. Too bad I can't show you a link to it, because EA deleted the Jedi Archives (the main forum where they announced this kind of stuff).

However, it took them until the game was discontinued (about 2 years later) to admit Battlefront's matchmaking had nothing to do with balancing teams by skill or level, or anything other then just randomly shuffling players around. If I'm not mistaken it's in a message from EA_Tom in the General subsection here in AHQ, but I can't recall where exactly. We all already knew this, but they finally admitted it.

So yeah, matchmaking doesn't do anything to make teams balanced. If teams are too unbalanced either try to reason with the enemy or find another lobby. There's nothing you can do, and devs will never comeback to this. If when we first complained the most they did was ignoring this request to balance the teams, now that they are gone there's no hope left.

Honestly the dev's make it seem like they couldn't care less about the playerbase. fkn EA are some *

  • This is true , I have found the match-making to be just a TAD-BIT unfair…  I think the proper fix would be something among the lines of “skill-based match-making” which is where you get paired with against players who are among the same struggles and progression as yourself.  If this is possible, it would be much appreciated.

That would be because EA genuinely doesn't care about their customers.  Just their shareholders. The rest of us can die after we give them our money.
