Whenever I press the play button it does the cloud sync, closes origin, and then opens origin again

I have tried manually updating the game, repairing the game, manually launching the .exe as admin, and clearing the origin cache.
This has only started happening for me after the latest update and was working flawlessly since it came out.

I think the problem is fixed with January 30, 2019 update. Can someone confirm this?
I tried running it as admin but didn't work, even after restart and clearing origin cache, just waited a couple hours and it worked fine from within origin.
I've been having a similar issue. The game will say that it has launched, and then just not launch if I launch it through either the Origin client or the desktop shortcut. If I go to the installation folder where the game's been installed and launch it from there it launches just fine. The crashes that happen while I'm playing though are another story.
