- @Player55 They could in theory make it available for PS4 and Xbox One if they built the maps like Battlefield typically does. Battlefield builds maps for large 64 player Conquest first, but with the capability for smaller versions with less capture points.
This is how Battlefield 3 was brought to PS3 and Xbox 360. The PC version had the full 64 players large maps while the PS3/Xbox 360 version had smaller 24 player maps. It was the same maps but with flags removed. So for instance Caspian Border still had the tower in the middle and capture points next to it, capture point at the toll gate, and small town on opposite side, but more distant capture points were removed. I didn't know Battlefield 3 had 64 players on PC, I though it started with Battlefield 4 @ArchAngeL-PCX. Thank you for the info!
I have played Battlefield 3 on my PS3 and it was amazing for its time.
- @Player55 yeah it had 64 on PC. I also played BF3 on PS3. I liked it a lot, especially the Back To Karkand DLC.
I hope this would be true. I heard there will be no exclusive contracts anymore after EAs contract.
I for one really hope it is, I also hope we get an announcement sooner rather than later.
According to leaks we should get a logo reveal this month and it will be released late next year
- @XxDeepDiveJrxX Man I hope so. And again, I hope they continue the trajectory this game was on before they pulled support. Conquest game modes, bigger maps, bigger player counts, co-op...keep it coming!
Fall 2022 does sound like a good window too with Battlefield 6 apparently on track for Fall 2021. I hope it has a mode with split screen and hero AI.
- @ArchAngeL-PCX Only if bf6 attracts what papa Activision took away from all cod players:CASUAL GAMING AND NO SBMM cause they just literally said that they are moving away from classic 6v6 mutiplayer and onto warzone which I hate cause who like camping with a zero-recoil gun in a house for 3 hours???? So fingers crossed that bf6 will kill cod once and for all
- @soapy_catuses I have a feeling you'll get your wish. Content creators for Battlefield have been consistently preaching that the all out sandbox warfare of Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 needs to return. What we heard in the investor report about BF6 seems to indicate that's what will happen. They also mentioned more players and bigger maps than ever before.
DICE let it slip no doubt. Using a WW1 setting for BF1 minimized vehicle usage. They launched Battlefront 2 with only GA. Battlefield V totally wasted the vehicle potential of WW2. They opened the door for Warzone.
I took Battlefront 2's shift towards Conquest play to be a sign DICE as a studio might be shifting back to sandbox open warfare mentality.
