BFII Overheating Xbox One X Since Recent Patch

Hey there EA/DICE and community.  Since the most recent patch, my Xbox One X has shut down due to overheating a number of times.  It doesn't happen all the time.  I can go and play a bunch of GA, SA, or HvV rounds without issue, but then when back at the main menu (usually when I open a crate) the system shuts down.  This never happened until the recent patch.  I not sure what you guys did to make this happen, but I hope you can figure it out and correct it ASAP.  Anyone else?

    I stand corrected. Just finished playing SA and GA working on current challenges. Opened the Trooper crate, and system shutdown.

    Confirming that this happens when I open crates, didn't even play a game so the system was cool.

    Logged on to claim daily crate -> overheats XBox.

    Changed account and logged on to claim crate -> overheats Xbox.

    Hey @Robbiesan11 just want to be sure, you have good air flow around the xbox?

    Also does this happy any other game and what game have you tested?

    Thanks for the response Atic. Yes, no blockages around the console. Being a console user for years I ensure proper air flow.

    This only started happening with the recent patch. No other game causes this. I played a bunch of Star Trek Online, and Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic yesterday with no issue. As of yesterday when I logged in I saw a "Fix-Celebration" crate where EA apologized for the problem and gave us a bunch of creds. Funny thing is when I opened that specific crate I immediately heard the fan rev right up, but then it slowed down, and no system shutdown. I then opened the daily crate, and voila, system shutdown.

    Just to be sure I just logged in and opened the daily crate and the system shutdown. I just tested opening up a couple of hero crates. Per usual the fan revs up but slows back down, and no system shutdown. It appears to be the daily crate that is the problem. Not sure what changed in the daily crate coding since in the patch, but they've been a problem ever since.

    Ok, quick update. I have a second account. When I opened the login crate from yesterday the system shutdown. I logged on later and just opened a daily log in crate and there was no problem. Perhaps the problem really is solved. I'll report back tomorrow either way.

    (N7 Elcor)/Pleasant Surprise: Well, holy moly! Logged in with my main account and opened two daily login crates without a problem. Switched to other account and opened daily login crate without a problem.

    (N7 Elcor)/Pensive Optimism: I will try again tomorrow and report back if the problem returned.

    Well, it's 50/50 at this time. Om my main profile daily crate works fine. Logged into my second profile and daily crate cause system shutdown. Dafuq guys?

    Similar issue on the ps4 pro and it has not been addressed or fixed. the fan on my pro gets really really loud during loading screens but its fine during gameplay. i think the issue could be uncapped frames in the menus and loading screens because other games have the same issues for instance in cod mwr when im in a lobby or opening a crate my fan is also loud. i stopped playing in fear of damaging my console but it sucks because i payed for the game but cant play.

    I have the same problem on my one x. The one x always returns to the xbox starting screen after opening a crate.

    The problem is back, even opening hero crates. Since I heard news about the new progression system today I decided to spend my credits on crates for crafting parts since I am not concerned about cosmetics. Each time I open a hero crate the game overheats my Xbox One X and it shuts down. It is consistent, happening every time.

    EA/DICE, Is there a fix for this in the upcoming patch? I hope so. It's a super annoying bug.
