Campaign crashes (EA Star Wars Battlefront II)

When I first launched the campaign in Star Wars Battlefront II everything was looking good with around 90 fps average. I played the first mission in the Mon Calamari cruiser and started the next one ...

After the recent patch another issue showed up: every time I switch to another application witch ALT + TAB and then switch back, the game crashes.

I think this might have something to do with my resolution or refresh rate.

My monitor - ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q (wqhd @165Hz)
