Try going to options EA accounts and fiddling with the ping site. Search for a game, whilst searching change your ping site and sit on that page till it connects. This has worked for me.
Have not been alone much waiting for the game, but have seen people leave. When it happens, I leave and reenter.
Also, reset your router, wifi, and system. (Hard boot). Shut down, wait 2 mins. Start up, Modem. then, router, lastly system. GLHF
