Having bought the game on Steam on June 2020, I acquired the game for free on Epic.
This issue seems to be a major issue, I might hold off until it’s fixed

I am reading this thread last 3 days and I must say what a mess. What Epic games store has done. Seems like a sabotage of Steam and Origin. I have the game on 3 different platforms and on none it seems to work now. So I got it on Origin back in 2017. Then in 2020 I got it on Steam because I really like the platform to play all of my games. And then because of greed I took it for free on Epic store ( I didn't need it). And now I can't play it anywhere. And all 3 great platform houses seem to be lost in what to do. This seems like a medieval power struggle and a thriller.

@NICK-ALTMAN I don't believe it is EPIC or STEAM's fault.
It's on EA/ORIGIN. They were simply not prepared/thought of a player having a game on both steam & epic.
Surely, it should just be a case of, and has been said before, 2 x bf2 showing in the launcher - epic & steam versions.
If you have installed via steam like I did, using the desktop icon points to steam which goes to origin and starts the Steam BF2.
On the other hand, if you installed via EPIC, the desktop icon will point to EPIC, this passes onto ORIGIN launcher and it launches the EPIC BF2.
Origin launcher is simply overwriting one with the other which is causing the drama.
