Unlinking Epic from your Origin/EA account is not a fix if you have other games that were bought through EPIC that need ORIGIN.
In doing so, you will just stop other games from working.
It's unfortunate, that the only solution is to unlink Epic from origin, but since there is no solution out there yet, and most folks suffer from only linking this one game from Epic to origin, I think it's good enough. But it does not mean that EA shouldn't work on a fix for this issue, but it should resolve most of the problems, at least from what I think. Thez totalz need to fix it, but it should be ok for now. Like someone had put ducktape on it lol
Sorry if this has already been said....
I got it to work without unlinking.
Some said, if you log onto origin via the website, it shows in your library that you have BF2 from steam AND BF2 from Epic.
I found, if I double clicked to on BF2 Steam here, it said it will open the origin launcher, then the game launched and I could play it (I can't remember, I may have then double clicked BF2 in the launcher, but it did work by starting via the website first).
My achievements were all there, as all of those are done via ea/origin and not through steam or epic.
....and just to clarify, my BF2 install was via steam (not EPIC).
EA still need to sort this. The launcher needs to show both the epic and steam 'versions' of the game.
- @TheGooseShot I did this as I have the game on both Steam and Epic, but only installed via Steam. I found I could launch the game from the Origin website if I clicked on my Steam version of the game. The game booted up fine but apparently used the Epic Games launcher to do it. If I try to launch from Steam I get the same problems that I need an activation code.
Have the same issue, but starting the game worked surprisingly fine, when i started origin via Steam Big Picture and after that BF2 in Steam Big Picture and after that BF2 in Epic. Thats quite a workaround, but i'm able to use the whole stuff like steam overlay, controller support and stuff.
So I completely uninstalled the game, deleted the ORIGIN program completely. He returned the game Battlefront to EPIC STORE. Subsequently, I asked EPIC STORE to remove any account links to Steam. I also asked EA GAMES to remove any account links to EPIC STORE. He reinstalled the game from the STEAM client, then installed the latest ORIGIN program. Unfortunately, it did not help and the game purchased from STEAM is inactive and cannot be verified in the ORIGIN program.
So the problem persists. The error is in the ORIGIN program. On the EA GAMES website, I already have the game suppressed in my EPIC STORE library, and I subsequently had it removed from EPIC STORE, or "refund."
So I'm waiting for the repair of the ORIGIN client.
Thanks for yesterday's support from EA GAMES after the chat for trying to solve the problem, but it didn't help.Greeting fejkr_cz
- i have the same problem with sw battlefront 2 +dlc.
i bought it on steam in november and after getting the free version on epic games store i can't lauch the steam version
however epic games launcher is not installed on my current computer but in the application i can't see the steam version
only the epic games version.
in browser i can see both of them. I can't play with my steam game.. It's requesting activation and the game doesn't appear on my origin client library.. I can only play with epic game or the first game that I bought directly from origin a long time ago.
I want and need to play with my game purchased through steam
