Can't run the game anymore from Steam after linking Epic with Origin

There seems to have been some movement forward.

My origin launcher now shows 2 x copies of BF2, one via STEAM & one via Epic.

However, the icon on desktop (which was through the STEAM install) still does not work. Origin launcher opens but comes up with same activation required message.

If I launch via the launcher, today since it was there I used the STEAM BF2, for some reason it opens the EPIC launcher and the EPIC Launcher shows the game is running.

So its not 100% fixed, but at least there is movement on it.

I take it back.

Now the ORIGIN launcher only showing EPIC BF2.

Am sure when I went to play earlier it had EPIC & STEAM BF2 just the same as what the website shows.

@darksaber979Same thing happend to me earlier today, it seems if you launch the Origin client from steam, and you close the "activation" promt, you can see both games in your libary, or at least you could.

Edit: When I launched the game from the Steam version, it still launched the Epic version as my Steam Client did not show me playing the game, and the shift-tab menu would not work.

Having bought the game on Steam on June 2020, I acquired the game for free on Epic.

This issue seems to be a major issue, I might hold off until it’s fixed

I am reading this thread last 3 days and I must say what a mess. What Epic games store has done. Seems like a sabotage of Steam and Origin. I have the game on 3 different platforms and on none it seems to work now. So I got it on Origin back in 2017. Then in 2020 I got it on Steam because I really like the platform to play all of my games. And then because of greed I took it for free on Epic store ( I didn't need it). And now I can't play it anywhere. And all 3 great platform houses seem to be lost in what to do. This seems like a medieval power struggle and a thriller.

Reinstall battlefront and try again.  it worked for me
